Frequently asked questions

Why should I choose Drew as my trainer?

The short version: I know my stuff, I practice what I preach and I’m personally invested.

The long version: My life has been touched by the transformative power of exercise in too many ways to count. I want that for my fellow humans, especially those […]

What kind of training does Drew recommend?

I’m not picky, anything that gets your heart rate up is great! If you had to pin me down though, I’d pick strength training: push ups, pull ups, squats, stuff like that. It’s the most time-efficient way to become as fit as possible.

How much does training with Drew cost?

Sessions are booked in 1-hour blocks. Each block costs $120. I do not offer discounts or packages. You are free to invite family or friends to your sessions.

How do I get started?

Email drew@drewtrainsyou.com or text me at 913-620-0451.

We can setup a free in-person consultation. We’ll go over your goals, any relevant health history and just generally get to know one another to see if we’re a good fit.

What’s Drew’s availability?

Monday through Friday by appointment only.

Where do you train?

I serve the following cities inside the I-435 loop on the Kansas side, south of the river:

Lenexa, Shawnee, Lake Quivira, Merriam, Kansas city, Westwood, Westwood Hills, Overland Park, Mission, Roeland Park, Fairway, Prairie Village, Leawood and Mission Hills.

How much space do I need?

If you have a spot in your home where you can stand with your arms stretched out and turn in a circle without knocking anything over, we’re good! I’m also a huge proponent of exercising outside if that interests you.

How often should I workout?

It depends entirely on your goals! Speaking very generally, I think you get diminishing returns after two hard workouts per week.

Of course, there are some (present company included) that love to push themselves five, six or seven days per week. However, at that level of commitment, you significantly increase your odds of injury or overtraining.

Every program carries tradeoffs and those tradeoffs can vary, significantly. A good trainer will help you identify, avoid or engage with those tradeoffs carefully.

Do I need to own exercise equipment?

Nope. If you already own equipment you’d like to use, that’s great! I can also provide the basic tools like adjustable dumbbells or yoga mats.
